Material: Wa sized block. Black dyed black ash burl presenting in a dark grey finish.

Stabilized wood increases the strength and durability of the wood, increasing the water resistance, decreasing thermal expansion and contraction, and reducing the risk of grain tear outs. This makes our blocks optimal for any fine wood arts including hidden tang knives, WA style knives, wood carving, and wood turning.

DISCLAIMERS:

- Blocks have been roughly sanded at 60 grit to expose wood grain from the stabilization process. The lack of finish is reflected in the lower-than-market prices. 

- Blocks were sprayed with Windex for the purpose of the photos. The final color of the scales will depend on your finishing process. Windex will most closely approximate an oil finish. Buffing finished will be lighter. 

- Photos have edited to reflect actual color and figure to the best of my abilities. 

- Highly burled woods may have small voids and checks. Any large checks will be noted in the listing with an appropriate price reduction. No blocks will be listed with known defects that cannot be easily patched with CA glue. 

- All blocks have been stabilized by K&G unless otherwise noted.
